TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1 – WILLIAMS LAKE, BC

Travelling the Cariboo Highway, we follow much of the historic Cariboo Wagon Road and the Gold Rush Trail of the 1860’s before stopping in Williams Lake for our overnight stay.

DAY 2 – PRINCE GEORGE, BC

Visit BC’s best known heritage town of Barkerville before continuing north for an overnight in Prince George.

DAY 3 – SMITHERS, BC

We continue our journey north to one of two permanent fur trade posts west of the Rockies – Fort St. James Historic Site.

DAY 4 – STEWART, BC

Taking the iconic Stewart-Cassiar Highway we explore the world-famous ‘Ksan Village, a replicated ancient Gitxsan village that illustrates many features from a distant past.  Spend the next two nights in the colourful frontier town of Stewart.

EXPERIENCES & HIGHLIGHTS

Stewart-Cassiar Highway is the artery to some of the wildest scenery in North America.  It follows a scenically stunning route on the east side of the Coast Mountains and traverses the Cassiar Mountains before joining the Alaska Highway.

The spectacular scenery along this route showcases over 20 glaciers that are all visible from the highway.  Bear Glacier and Salmon Glacier are perhaps the most photographed.

SPOTLIGHT

Step back in time and experience life and culture through the eyes of the Gitksan people before European Settlers arrived in Canada at “Ksan Historical Village.

DAY 5 – STEWART

Cross the border into Hyder, Alaska for a day of spectacular sites as we visit the Fish Creek Wildlife Observation Site and the spectacular sight of the Salmon Glacier.

DID YOU KNOW?

With a population of 14 people, Hyder is known as the “Friendliest Ghost Town in Alaska”. It is famous for the Grizzly and Black Bear viewing at the Fish Creek Wildlife Observation Site.

DAY 6 – PRINCE RUPERT

We retrace our route back through the stunning scenery of Bear Pass to Prince Rupert.   Experience 125 years of history at the Northern Pacific Cannery.

DAY 7 – PORT HARDY, BC

Embark on a full day scenic voyage through the Inside Passage onboard the “Northern Expedition”.  Travel along the magnificent coastline passing islands, waterfalls and through dramatic fjords and green forested channels.

DAY 8 – CAMPBELL RIVER, BC

Travel along the scenic Highway 19 along the scenic Strait of Georgia Coast to Campbell River where we are offered spectacular views of the Discovery Passage.

DAY 9 – RETURN HOME

Board BC Ferries to return to the Mainland.
