TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 – HALIFAX, NS
Fly to Halifax arriving early evening. A Meet & Greet will take place tonight.
DAY 2 – MONCTON, NB
Explore the Bay of Fundy and learn about the world’s highest tides and the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Joggins Fossil Cliffs, the world’s most complete fossil record of life in the “Coal Age” of 300 million years ago. Arrive into New Brunswick and enjoy a scrumptious lobster dinner!
DAY 3 – SAINT JOHN, NB
Visit the true natural wonder of Hopewell Rocks and marvel at the massive flower-pot shaped formations. Travel through Fundy National Park to Saint John. Enjoy a city tour including the Reversing Falls.
DAY 4 – SAINT JOHN
Enjoy a day trip to picturesque St. Andrews by-the Sea for a Whale Watching Tour and an afternoon of exploration.
DAY 5 – DIGBY, NS
Ferry back to Nova Scotia today and arrive in the enchanting Digby, the scallop capital of the world. Check into the hotel overlooking the Annapolis Basin on the Bay of Fundy.
DAY 6 – HALIFAX
At the Port Royal National Historic Site, learn about this early 17th century French colony. Travel through the lush Annapolis Valley where the French Acadians of Grand Pre first settled. Learn about this landscape’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and visit a local winery for a tour and tasting before returning to Halifax.
DAY 7 – HALIFAX
Discover the rustic charm of the renowned fishing village of Peggy’s Cove. Travel the South Shore and on to Lunenburg, the UNESCO World Heritage Town renowned for her fleets of Grand Banks’ fishing schooners. Take a walking tour and visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the town’s famous seafaring heritage.
DAY 8 – CHARLOTTETOWN, PE
Learn about the Mi’kmaq people at Millbrook Cultural & Heritage Centre before crossing Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island. Check into your hotel for a two-night stay and enjoy a theatre performance at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
DAY 9 – CHARLOTTETOWN
Enjoy a free morning in Charlottetown, birthplace of Canada or join a complimentary walking tour of the city. This afternoon, tour the scenic North Shore of the island. Drive by red cliffs, white beaches, gently sloping sand dunes and green fields of Prince Edward Island National Park and visit Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place, the alluring inspiration of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic books. Experience true Maritime hospitality this evening at a traditional hall-style lobster supper.
DAY 10 – BADDECK, NS
Ferry over the Northumberland Strait back to Nova Scotia and proceed to Cape Breton Island, the Scotland of North America, via the Canso Causeway. See the beautiful Bras d’Or Lake from the water as you board a unique sightseeing boat tour. Spend the next two nights in the charming village of Baddeck.
DAY 11 – BADDECK
Experience one of the most stunningly picturesque drives in North America as you tour the Cabot Trail and Cape Breton Highlands National Park, where lush, forested river canyons carve into the ancient plateau, edged by rust-coloured cliffs. Also, visit Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site to learn of the many accomplishments of this genius who made his home on the island.
DAY 12 – HALIFAX
Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site awaits today. Roam the streets and chat with authentically costumed guides. Then, proceed along the shore of the Bras d’Or Lake to the mainland and back to Halifax for one last night in the Maritimes.
DAY 13 – RETURN HOME
Check-out from your hotel and board your flight for the return journey home.
