TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1 – TELEGRAPH COVE, BC

Today the journey begins as we head to the eastern coast  of Northern Vancouver Island with an overnight stay in the Lodge at Telegraph Cove Resort.

SPOTLIGHT

The village of Telegraph Cove is tucked away on the eastern coast of the island. It has a rich and colourful past and is one of the last boardwalk settlements left on Vancouver Island.

DAY 2 – CAMPBELL RIVER, BC

After breakfast, navigate the Broughton Archipelago in search of orcas, humpback whales and other marine life on a three-hour whale watching adventure. Later today, head to Campbell River and settle into the legendary Painter’s Lodge, offering spectacular views of the Discovery Passage for two nights.

DAY 3 – CAMPBELL RIVER

Explore Vancouver Island’s Wild West Coast aboard the MV Uchuck III departing from Gold River. Listen to the history of the area while sailing the Nootka Sound, Esperanza Inlet and Kyuquot Sound.

EXPERIENCES & HIGHLIGHTS

The MV Uchuck III derives her name from the West Coast First Nations Nootkan word for “healing waters” and has been serving the Vancouver Island area for over 50 years.

Marvel at the stunning scenery as you cruise along the remote northwest coast of the island, including stops at remote fish farms, logging camps and maritime villages that rely on the MV Uchuck III as a lifeline.  Witness the abundance of marine animals and wildlife on land and in the sea!

DAY 4 – PARKSVILLE, BC

Taking the old Island Highway, we arrive at the small community of Coombs, famous for the market with goats on the roof. This afternoon, we arrive in Parksville and to the Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort for our final night. Steeped in over 70 years of Innkeeper’s tradition and nestled in the serene forest of the West Coast, Tigh-Na-Mara is the ideal place to reconnect with nature.  Take a walk on the beach, experience the healing waters of the Grotto Mineral Pool which is infused with natural minerals and enjoy the many other amazing amenities of this oceanfront resort.

SPOTLIGHT

Built in 1940, Painter’s Lodge has played host to celebrities (and avid fishermen) such as Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, John Wayne and Susan Hayward., to name a few.

DAY 5 – RETURN HOME

Board BC Ferries as we make our way back to the mainland.  Bidding farewell to new-found friends, return home with wonderful memories from our Island Discovery. adventure.
